Polling on November 4 will be conducted in two phases. The first phase of voting will occur from 9 AM to 1 PM, followed by the second phase from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM. Following the completion of voting, the counting of votes will commence at 9 PM on the same day. The final results will be announced on November 6. Nominations are scheduled to begin on October 27, with a presidential debate slated for November 2.
The JNU Students' Union elections are closely watched, as they reflect the political sentiments and ideologies prevalent among the student body. In the previous election, the United Left panel secured three key posts, while the Birsa Ambedkar Phule Students' Association (BAPSA) won one post. Specifically, Dhananjay of the All India Students Association (AISA) won the president's post with 2,598 votes. Avijit Ghosh from the Students' Federation of India (SFI) secured the vice-president post with 2,409 votes. The joint secretary post was won by Mo Sajid from the All India Students' Federation (AISF) with 2,574 votes.
