Firozabad, Uttar Pradesh – Uttar Pradesh Minister for Women and Child Development, Nutrition, and Welfare, Baby Rani Maurya, narrowly escaped serious injury Friday night when her vehicle was involved in an accident on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway. The incident occurred near the 56 km milestone within the Naseerpur police station area of Firozabad district.

According to police reports, Minister Maurya was en route to Lucknow after attending an event in Hathras district. Traffic on the expressway was operating on a single lane due to ongoing maintenance work when the incident occurred. A truck traveling ahead of the Minister's Toyota Fortuner suffered a sudden tyre burst. The truck driver lost control, causing the vehicle to veer into the Minister's car.

The collision severely damaged the driver's side of the Minister's vehicle. Fortunately, Minister Maurya and her driver escaped without any injuries. The Minister's driver was able to maintain control of the Fortuner and prevent a potentially more serious accident.

Upon receiving news of the accident, local police and administrative officials, including CO (Circle Officer) Sirsa Ganj Anivesh Kumar and Station House Officer Gyanendra Kumar Solanki, immediately arrived at the scene. Minister Maurya was safely removed from her damaged vehicle, and authorities arranged for a replacement car to allow her to continue her journey to Lucknow.

Following the incident, Minister Maurya instructed officials to increase safety measures on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway. She emphasized the need for improved traffic control to prevent similar accidents in the future.

Traffic flow was temporarily disrupted but was quickly restored. The Naseerpur Police took the truck driver into custody for questioning.

The incident is under investigation.
