Prime Minister Narendra Modi is slated to attend the flag-hoisting ceremony at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya on November 25, 2025. Nripendra Mishra, Chairman of the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple Construction Committee, confirmed the Prime Minister's participation, emphasizing the significance of the event for devotees. Mishra highlighted that the ceremony would symbolically mark the completion of the Ram Temple's construction.
The flag-hoisting ceremony is expected to be a grand affair, reminiscent of the Pran Pratishtha ceremony, and will be attended by senior BJP leaders. The event will also mark the beginning of the BJP's new campaign. In addition to political leaders, arrangements are being made for around 10,000 guests to attend the ceremony.
During the visit, the Prime Minister is expected to hoist a 22-foot-tall religious flag bearing the symbols of the Sun, Om, and the Kovidar tree. The saffron flag will be hoisted on a 42-foot-tall pillar at the 161-foot-tall peak of the Ram Temple. Flag hoisting will also take place at six other temples in the Ram Temple complex, including the Sheshavatar Temple.
Nripendra Mishra has been actively involved in the preparations for the ceremony, including decisions on the flag's color, size, and design. A mock drill for the flag hoisting was conducted in early October. Mishra has emphasized PM Modi's role in resolving the Ayodhya dispute and ensuring the natural unfolding of the temple's construction process. According to Mishra, the Prime Minister ensured that the process of justice unfolded naturally at every step.
The Prime Minister's presence at the ceremony holds great importance, as he had previously pledged to visit Ayodhya only after the commencement of the Ram Mandir construction. Mishra noted that PM Modi had not visited Ayodhya for 20 years because of this commitment.
The event on November 25 coincides with Vivah Panchami, a day when the marriage festival of Lord Ram and Goddess Sita is traditionally celebrated in temples across Ayodhya.
In addition to the flag-hoisting ceremony, the Prime Minister is expected to review the progress of the Viksit Uttar Pradesh Abhiyan, which has received over 500,000 suggestions. He will also inspect the Noida International Airport being built in Jewar. Furthermore, PM Modi is expected to invite participants for the world's largest Scout and Guide Jamboree, which is expected to attract over 35,000 cadets.
Nripendra Mishra has stated that the construction of the temple's auditorium will be completed in the first six months of 2026.
