Electric Bus Overturns Near Hyderabad After Kurnool Incident, No Casualties Reported: Safety Concerns Rise.

Hyderabad, October 26, 2025 – Just a day after a devastating bus fire in Kurnool, another bus accident occurred near Hyderabad on Saturday, October 25, 2025, this time involving a private electric bus that overturned on the Outer Ring Road (ORR) near Pedda Amberpet. While the Kurnool tragedy resulted in multiple fatalities, authorities have confirmed that there were no casualties in this latest incident. However, several passengers sustained injuries and were immediately rushed to nearby hospitals.

The Nue Go electric bus, en route from Miyapur to Guntur, overturned at approximately 12:35 pm while negotiating a curve on the ORR. According to the Abdullapurmet police, the bus was carrying 9 people, including 6 passengers, two drivers, and a conductor. Preliminary investigations suggest that the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to hit a railing and overturn. Some reports indicate the bus may have also struck the central divider before veering off the road.

Nine people were injured in the accident. Four of the injured passengers, identified as Shaik Zaheer, Akula Gayatri, Kasthik Subash, and A. Prabhakar, were transported to a private hospital in Hayathnagar. The remaining injured individuals, including Mounica, Prathusha, and the two drivers, Veeraanjaneya Reddy and Srinivas, received initial treatment at a hospital along the ORR before being moved to Apollo DRDO Hospital in Kanchanbagh. While the driver sustained serious injuries, all injured are reported to be in stable condition.

Traffic Inspector Vanasthalipuram stated that there were 17 passengers and 7 were injured.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident, with initial findings suggesting driver negligence as a contributing factor. Police have indicated that the driver may have taken a wrong turn at the curve, leading to the mishap. However, they also confirmed that the driver was not under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident. The vehicle had no prior accident record.

An Abdullapurmet police officer noted that the curve where the accident occurred has been the site of previous mishaps, suggesting a potential design flaw or lack of adequate safety measures. "Drivers often fail to slow down at this stretch," the officer stated.

The accident prompted a swift response from local authorities and emergency services. Locals and toll plaza staff were the first to respond and help rescue passengers trapped inside the bus. ORR patrolling personnel also joined the rescue efforts.

The Telangana government has not yet released any statements regarding compensation for the injured.
