Nagarjuna Akkineni recently shared an interesting anecdote about Ranbir Kapoor's enthusiasm for the film Animal while they were working together on Brahmastra. During a promotional discussion with Animal director Sandeep Reddy Vanga and Ram Gopal Varma for the re-release of the cult classic Shiva, Nagarjuna revealed that Ranbir was deeply invested in Animal long before filming even commenced.

Nagarjuna recalled that Ranbir Kapoor was constantly talking about Animal and expressed immense excitement about the project. According to Nagarjuna, Ranbir was studying scenes from Sandeep Reddy Vanga's previous Telugu film, Arjun Reddy, starring Vijay Deverakonda.

"[Ranbir] was pulling out Arjun Reddy — not the Hindi version, but the Telugu one — and showing me some scenes," Nagarjuna stated. He specifically remembered Ranbir showing him a kissing scene featuring Vijay Deverakonda. Ranbir Kapoor was impressed by how realistic the scene appeared. Nagarjuna noted that Ranbir was very excited to begin working on Animal. Sandeep Reddy Vanga added that Ranbir never had any doubts about Animal.
