Director Homi Adajania has offered a sneak peek into Shahid Kapoor's preparation for "Cocktail 2," the highly anticipated sequel to the 2012 hit film. While details about the film's plot are still under wraps, Adajania's recent social media activity has generated considerable buzz surrounding the cast's dedication to their roles.

"Cocktail 2" is being described as a spiritual successor to the original, which starred Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone, and Diana Penty. This time around, the film features Shahid Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, and Kriti Sanon in pivotal roles. The sequel, like the first film, will delve into a contemporary love triangle filled with intricate emotions and complex relationships.

Homi Adajania is directing the sequel, with the story penned by Luv Ranjan. Dinesh Vijan is producing the film under Maddock Films.

Adajania shared his enthusiasm for Rashmika Mandanna's Telugu film, "The Girlfriend", on Instagram, complimenting the cast and crew and expressing his eagerness to see Mandanna's performance.

Kriti Sanon has also begun preparations for her role in "Cocktail 2". Adajania posted a photo on Instagram of Sanon with a "Work in Progress" GIF covering her face, hinting at her ongoing preparations for the film and teasing an intriguing new chapter in the popular franchise. Sanon reposted the photo, expressing her excitement for a liberating journey.

The cast and crew recently filmed in Sicily, Italy, and are preparing to shoot in Delhi for a month. Celebrity stylist Anaita Shroff Adajania, Homi Adajania's wife, shared a glimpse of the "Cocktail 2" script on her Instagram story.

"Cocktail 2" is expected to hit theaters in the latter half of 2026.
