Sandeep Reddy Vanga Reveals Prabhas's Spirit Filming to Commence This Month-End: Exciting Production Update.

Sandeep Reddy Vanga has announced that filming for Spirit, starring Prabhas, is set to commence at the end of this month. The director made the announcement at an event for his upcoming film Jigiris.

Spirit marks Vanga's fourth directorial venture. An audio teaser for the film was released on Prabhas's birthday, October 23, further heightening anticipation. The complete cast includes Tripti Dimri, Prakash Raj, Vivek Oberoi, and Kanchana.

Initially, there were plans to begin shooting in September 2025, but those plans were affected by Prabhas's prior commitments. He was previously occupied with The Raja Saab and Fauji, directed by Hanu Raghavapudi. While Prabhas has wrapped up most of the shooting for The Raja Saab, he still has portions to complete for Fauji.

The director had previously wanted Prabhas to commit himself entirely to Spirit, but the actor's existing projects made that difficult. Now that Prabhas has completed the majority of The Raja Saab, he can focus on Spirit.

Spirit has been a frequently discussed project, even though it has not yet started filming. The film is planned as a cop drama with Prabhas in the lead role.

Notably, this film will be Kanchana's second collaboration with Sandeep Reddy Vanga, following Arjun Reddy (2017). Tripti Dimri is also collaborating with the director for the second time after Animal (2023).

Following the release of the audio teaser, there was speculation that Chiranjeevi would play Prabhas's father in the film, similar to Anil Kapoor's role in Animal. However, Vanga has dismissed these rumors.

Spirit is Prabhas's 25th film and is jointly produced by Bhadrakali Pictures and T Series, with music by Harshavardhan Rameshwar.

[Editorial Note: Some reports suggest filming may begin in February 2026.]
