Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce recently enjoyed a getaway to New York City with his fiancée, pop superstar Taylor Swift. During his bye week, Kelce took the opportunity to spend quality time with Swift, who had just released her new album, "The Life Of A Showgirl". The couple's trip included exploring Manhattan, dining at popular spots, and enjoying the city's vibrant atmosphere.
Kelce shared details about the trip on the "New Heights" podcast, which he co-hosts with his brother, Jason Kelce. He said, "I went over to New York. Just hung out, man, put the feet up. Saw some cool places, ate some great food". He also expressed his appreciation for the city's energy, adding, "Got to feel the Big City, and it's electricity and it's buzz that it's always got".
The couple was spotted at The Polo Bar on November 5. Swift wore an all-black outfit with lace stockings and patent leather boots, while Kelce sported a burgundy two-piece outfit with layered chains. The following night, they were seen at Zero Bond, both dressed in black long-sleeved tops. Kelce paired his with brown trousers, and Swift wore grey pants.
Kelce also mentioned that he enjoys simply walking the streets of New York and "feeling everybody doing their own s---, and then meeting a few new people on the way". He finds it refreshing to "be one with the city" and experience its unique energy. He also stated, "It's my favorite time right now as the seasons are changing to be around the Midwest and the Northeast... It's cool to just kinda vibe around the city like that".
Beyond the romance, the trip allowed Kelce to reconnect with friends and experience the city at his own pace. Kelce likes to travel with Swift and see other places when he's not playing with the Kansas City Chiefs. He noted that he likes to "get away, recharge, see something else, see a new city, feel like I'm somewhere else" during his bye week.
The New York City getaway provided a mental recharge for Kelce before returning to the NFL grind. The Chiefs are set to face the Denver Broncos on November 16. This trip offered a balance of relaxation, dining, and sightseeing. It also highlights how professional athletes manage their downtime, combining personal life with preparation for high-stakes games.
