Ahmed Khan recently shared a picture with Akshay Kumar after wrapping up the Dubai schedule for a song for "Welcome To The Jungle". Khan posted the picture on Instagram, also featuring Disha Patani and his wife Shaira Ahmed Khan. He captioned it: "From set life to jet life. Fun time after wrapping the dubai Song #welcometothejungle".
"Welcome To The Jungle" is the third installment of the "Welcome" franchise. The first movie, directed by Anees Bazmee and released in 2007, starred Feroz Khan, Anil Kapoor, Nana Patekar, Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif, Paresh Rawal, and Mallika Sherawat. "Welcome Back," the sequel, was released in 2015 and featured Anil Kapoor, Nana Patekar, John Abraham, Shruti Haasan, and Paresh Rawal.
The film boasts a massive ensemble cast, including Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, Paresh Rawal, Johnny Lever, Rajpal Yadav, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade, Aftab Shivdasani, Jackie Shroff, Daler Mehndi, Mika Singh, Raveena Tandon, Lara Dutta, Jacqueline Fernandez, and Disha Patani. In August 2024, rumors began circulating that "Welcome To The Jungle" had been shelved. However, the makers of the film quickly dispelled these rumors by releasing a statement and unseen pictures from the shoot. Director Ahmed Khan clarified that the movie is on track and that the international marathon schedule would commence in October. He stated, "There is no truth to these rumours. The film is on track, and we are kickstarting our next leg of the marathon schedule internationally from October, for which my technical team has already left for the first recce".
About 70% of the movie’s shooting has already been completed. The film had wrapped up its Mumbai and Kashmir schedule in August 2024 and was scheduled to begin its international schedule in October.
Ahmed Khan, known for his choreography and direction, has been sharing insights and fun anecdotes from the sets. In an exclusive chat with Bollywood Bubble in February 2025, Khan recalled how Akshay Kumar, along with Suniel Shetty and Arshad Warsi, played pranks on the sets. Khan has choreographed for films like "Taal," "Ghajini," and "Kick," and has directed movies like "Baaghi 2" and "Fool & Final". He has also served as a judge on reality shows like "Dance India Dance Lil Master" and "Nach Baliye".
"Welcome To The Jungle" is produced by Firoz A. Nadiadwallah and is expected to be a grand action-comedy. While it was initially slated for a Christmas 2025 release, there have been reports of a potential delay.
