Mona Singh, currently enjoying the success of her recent works including "The Bads of Bollywood" and "Thode Door Thode Paas", recently shared a humorous anecdote from the set of Aryan Khan's "The Bads of Bollywood". The incident involved none other than Shah Rukh Khan, and it unfolded during the filming of the recreated song 'Duniya Haseeno Ka Mela'.
The reimagining of the 90s hit 'Duniya Haseeno Ka Mela' from the movie Gupt, featuring Bobby Deol, became a talking point in "The Ba***ds of Bollywood". Mona Singh, whose face was digitally superimposed onto Bhanu Khan's character from the original 1997 track, revealed that the song unexpectedly went viral. "My DMs were overflowing with memes of Duniya Haseeno Ka Mela. That song went wild again — it was trending!" she told News18.
According to Singh, Shah Rukh Khan used to visit the sets regularly. On the day they were filming 'Duniya Haseeno Ka Mela', he was present. "I remember saying, 'Sir, you cannot be here! I can't do this in front of you'," Mona recounted. Shah Rukh Khan, with his characteristic wit, responded, "Mona, what do you mean? You have to be professional". However, Singh stood her ground, insisting, "Not in front of you, please leave!".
Singh explained that she felt too nervous to perform in front of him. Her candid request, though delivered with humor, highlights the respect and perhaps a touch of awe she holds for the Bollywood icon.
Mona also shared the challenges of filming the sequence, noting that she had to precisely match the framing of the original song. She even humorously recalled a kiss scene with Bobby Deol that was shot opposite a man in a blue suit, guided through every move by Aryan Khan, who she described as knowing exactly what he wants and having excellent comic timing.
Aryan Khan's "The Ba***ds of Bollywood" marks his directorial debut. In the series, Mona Singh plays Neeta, and the climax reveals that Aasman Singh (played by Lakshya) is the illegitimate son of Neeta and Ajay Talvar (Bobby Deol). Aryan Khan decided to place Mona in the song to depict the emotional connection between Neeta and Ajay. The series also features Raghav Juyal, Sahher Bambba, Aanya Singh, Manish Chaudhari, Manoj Pahwa, Gautami Kapoor, Rajat Bedi and Vijayant Kohli.
Mona Singh is currently basking in the appreciation for her role in "Thode Door Thode Paas", alongside the renewed attention brought by "The Ba***ds of Bollywood". Her portrayal in the reimagined 'Duniya Haseeno Ka Mela' has sparked a wave of memes and online buzz, proving to be a significant highlight of the series.
