New Delhi, October 22, 2025 – Prime Minister Narendra Modi today lauded Union Home Minister Amit Shah for his unwavering commitment to public service and his pivotal role in strengthening India's internal security, ensuring a safe and dignified life for every Indian. The Prime Minister's remarks coincided with Shah's 61st birthday, as leaders across the political spectrum extended their greetings and appreciation for his contributions to the nation.
In a message posted on X, PM Modi conveyed his birthday wishes to Amit Shah, acknowledging his dedication and hard work. He specifically praised Shah's efforts in fortifying India's internal security apparatus, which has led to a safer and more dignified life for its citizens. "Birthday greetings to Home Minister Shri Amit Shah Ji. He is widely admired for his dedication to public service and hardworking nature. He has made commendable efforts to strengthen India's internal security apparatus and ensure every Indian leads a life of safety and dignity. Praying for his long and healthy life," PM Modi wrote.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh described Shah as "extremely hardworking and resolute," emphasizing his vital role in maintaining peace and stability in the country. He offered prayers for Shah's long life, excellent health, and continued success in serving the nation.
Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel commended Shah's leadership, which has resulted in a stronger internal security situation. He also acknowledged Shah's work in combating Naxalism and his efforts in revitalizing the cooperative sector as the country's first Minister of Cooperation. Patel lauded Shah's focus on "Prosperity through Cooperation," which has injected new energy into the cooperative sector and boosted the rural economy.
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta lauded Shah's efforts to strengthen India's internal security. She noted the decisive end of Naxalism's influence and the historic abrogation of Article 370, which she said embodied the spirit of an undivided India, under Shah's leadership.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar also extended his greetings, wishing Shah good health and a long life. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu conveyed his best wishes, praying for Shah's good health and continued service to the nation.
Amit Shah's political journey has been marked by significant achievements. Born in Mumbai in 1964, he rose through the ranks of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to become a key strategist and influential leader. His close association with Narendra Modi dates back to their early days in Gujarat. Shah held several important positions in the Gujarat state cabinet, including Home, Law and Justice, and Border Security. In 2014, he assumed the role of BJP's national president, spearheading the party's organizational expansion across India. As Union Home Minister, Shah has been instrumental in implementing major internal security reforms, including the abrogation of Article 370.
