A scandal has emerged in Chhattisgarh, with an Indian Police Service (IPS) officer and the wife of a sub-inspector leveling accusations of harassment and blackmail against each other.
The woman has accused IPS officer Ratan Lal Dangi of physical, mental, and financial harassment. Dangi has responded by filing a counter-complaint, accusing the woman of blackmail. According to Dangi, the woman has been extorting money and making threats against him. He alleges that she threatened to release compromising videos of his wife and demanded money. Dangi claims that the woman has been blackmailing him since he was the Deputy Inspector General in Dantewada in 2017-18.
The allegations surfaced following a complaint filed on October 15, prompting an investigation by a two-member committee formed at the police headquarters. The committee comprises Inspector General of Police Dr. Anand Chhabra and Deputy Inspector General of Police Milna Kurre. They are tasked with investigating the claims and recommending actions based on their findings.
