Deoria, Uttar Pradesh – A 30-year-old man has died by suicide in Deoria district, Uttar Pradesh, following a deeply disturbing series of events. The man, whose name has been withheld to protect the privacy of his family, reportedly took his own life on Friday morning, just two days after allegedly castrating his 28-year-old partner for the alleged rape of his six-year-old daughter.

According to police reports, the man discovered his partner allegedly assaulting his daughter on Wednesday. Overcome with anger, he committed the act of violence that led to his partner being rushed to Deoria Medical College, and subsequently transferred to Gorakhpur Medical College for further treatment.

The survivor of the assault, the daughter, had been visiting her father after staying with her mother. Following the incident, the father was called to the police station for questioning.

SHO Dinesh Kumar Mishra stated that preliminary investigations suggest the man was deeply distressed by the incident involving his daughter. After returning home on Thursday evening, he had dinner and slept alongside his daughter. The following morning, he prepared tea, performed prayers, and then seated his daughter outside the room. He then locked the door from the inside and allegedly hanged himself, according to police reports.

The Times of India reported the incident on October 24, 2025, highlighting the man's distress over the alleged rape of his daughter by his same-sex partner as the primary motive for his suicide. The report further added that the man was summoned to the police station for action after the incident. He returned home on Thursday evening, ate dinner, and went to sleep with his daughter. On Friday morning, after waking up, he made tea, performed prayers, then seated his daughter outside the room, locked the door from the inside, and allegedly hanged himself, police added.
