According to a press release by the UP government, work on a second runway will begin once passenger traffic exceeds 10 million. Ultimately, the two runways will be equipped to serve 70 million passengers. Upon reaching full capacity, the Jewar Airport will boast five runways spread across 11,750 acres, with the capacity to handle up to 300 million passengers each year, potentially making it one of the world's largest airports.
