Delhi is set to unveil its first official logo on November 1st, also known as Delhi Day. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced that the logo will represent the capital's distinct identity, modern governance, and citizen-friendly approach.
The logo aims to reflect Delhi's culture, development, and the aspirations of its people. Gupta emphasized that the logo will highlight Delhi's modernity, transparency, and focus on citizen-centric governance. The initiative aims to position Delhi as a strong brand, reflecting democratic values, technological advancement, and public participation. The logo will also convey the city's vibrancy, unity, and spirit of progress.
A special committee, formed by the Chief Minister, was tasked with selecting the official logo. The committee included PWD and Water Minister Parvesh Sahib Singh, Environment and Industry Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Chief Secretary Rajiv Verma, expert committee members, and other senior officials. The committee reviewed over 1,800 entries from an all-India competition held on the MyGov portal. The deadline for submissions was September 26th.
The selected logos have been finalized after extensive deliberation, with the official logo to be confirmed in a forthcoming meeting. The logo will become the permanent identity of the nation's capital after its release. The new logo will replace the national emblem currently used on Delhi government websites.
According to officials, the logo will reflect the essence of Delhi, blending its historic legacy with modern aspirations to create a visual identity that resonates with residents and visitors. Once implemented, the logo will appear across official websites, government documents, communication materials, and public campaigns. This move will unify the city's visual identity and enhance its recognition as a global capital that balances tradition with innovation.
CM Gupta stated that Delhi never had an official logo until now, unlike most states. The government began working on the logo selection as soon as they came to power. The winning logo captures the soul of Delhi, celebrating both traditions and ambitions. It will serve as a unifying symbol for the city, inspiring pride and fostering recognition at both national and global levels. With this initiative, Delhi joins other global capitals in creating a distinct city brand that communicates its values, achievements, and vision for the future.
