Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd (APSEZ), India's largest port developer and operator, is poised to demonstrate its leadership in fostering the nation's Blue Economy at India Maritime Week (IMW) 2025. The event is scheduled to take place from October 27th to 31st at the NESCO Exhibition Centre in Mumbai.
IMW 2025 is a premier global platform designed to showcase India's maritime capabilities, encourage international collaboration, and catalyze strategic investments within the maritime ecosystem. The event, organized by the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways in partnership with the Indian Ports Association, is expected to draw over 100,000 delegates, 500 exhibitors, and participants from over 100 countries. Union Home Minister Amit Shah will inaugurate the event on October 27th. The inaugural session will also be attended by Sarbananda Sonowal, Union Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, and Shantanu Thakur, Minister of State for Ports, Shipping and Waterways.
APSEZ's pavilion at IMW 2025 will highlight how technology, inclusivity, and Make-in-India innovations are contributing to a self-reliant and sustainable Blue Economy for India. The pavilion will focus on four key pillars: Aatmanirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India), women empowerment, AI-powered logistics, and impact & sustainability.
As part of its participation, APSEZ is expected to sign several MoUs to enhance India's port, dredging, and harbor capabilities under the Make-in-India framework. Key MoUs anticipated at IMW 2025 include agreements with Mumbai Port Authority for tugs, VO Chidambaranar Port Authority, Tuticorin for harbor tugs, Chennai Port Authority for an escort tug vessel, and the Directorate General of Shipping for the construction of tugboats. A self-propelled grab dredger is also expected to be part of the MoUs in the dredging segment. These MoUs are expected to be signed on October 29th in the presence of PM Narendra Modi.
APSEZ's commitment to innovation and sustainability will be showcased through India's first Trailing Suction Hopper Dredger (TSHD) simulator, indigenously developed by ARI Simulation. The company will also present its Zero Touch Multi-Modal Logistics Platform, which integrates ports, rail, road, and inland waterways with AI-driven analytics. Furthermore, APSEZ will highlight its adoption of renewable energy, electrified cranes, wastewater recycling, and carbon-neutral terminals.
In line with its focus on inclusion and skill development, APSEZ will showcase the deployment of India's first women quay crane operators at Vizhinjam Port.
India Maritime Week 2025 will feature exhibitions, panel discussions, and interactive sessions, highlighting opportunities in ports, shipping, logistics, and maritime technology. Industry experts will explore themes such as green shipping, digital transformation in logistics, cruise tourism, and port-led industrial development. The event aligns with the government's Maritime India Vision 2030 and Maritime Amrit Kaal Vision 2047, aiming to elevate India's global maritime footprint. With over 95% of India's trade by volume moving through its ports, IMW 2025 is a crucial platform for attracting investments, fostering international partnerships, and accelerating infrastructure projects under initiatives like Sagar Mala.
