In a move to future-proof India's digital identity infrastructure, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has established a high-level expert committee to create "Aadhaar Vision 2032". This initiative aims to ensure Aadhaar remains technologically advanced, secure, and aligned with evolving global standards for data protection and cybersecurity.

The expert panel, chaired by UIDAI Chairperson Neelkanth Mishra, comprises a diverse group of experts from various fields. Members include UIDAI CEO Bhuvnesh Kumar, Nutanix founder Dheeraj Pandey, MOSIP head of engineering Sasikumar Ganesan, Trilegal partner Rahul Matthan, Amrita University Professor Prabaharan Poornachandran, Michigan State University Professor Anil Jain, UIDAI Deputy Director General Abhishek Kumar Singh, Sarvam AI co-founder Vivek Raghavan, and IIT Jodhpur Professor Mayank Vatsa.

Recognizing the rapidly changing technological and regulatory landscape, UIDAI has initiated a comprehensive strategic and technological review to shape the next decade of Aadhaar's evolution through the "Aadhaar Vision 2032" framework. The roadmap will focus on sustaining Aadhaar's technological leadership while reinforcing its role as a secure, inclusive, and people-centric digital identity.

The committee's primary task is to develop the Aadhaar Vision 2032 document, which will outline the framework for the next-generation Aadhaar architecture. This framework will be aligned with India's Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act and emerging global standards for privacy and cybersecurity.

The Aadhaar Vision 2032 framework will leverage cutting-edge technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Blockchain, Quantum Computing, Advanced Encryption, and next-generation Data Security mechanisms. These technologies will ensure Aadhaar remains resilient against evolving cybersecurity threats, scalable for future demand, and adaptable to the rapidly changing digital landscape.

UIDAI's initiative reaffirms its commitment to technological excellence, innovation, and public trust, ensuring Aadhaar continues to be a transformative force in India's digital governance journey. By embracing global benchmarks for privacy and cybersecurity, the committee will prioritize fortifying defenses against cyber threats.
