India's Grand AI Impact Summit: A Future-Shaping Event Scheduled for February 19-20 Next Year.

India is set to host the India AI Impact Summit on February 19-20, 2026, in New Delhi. This flagship global gathering, organized by the Government of India under the IndiaAI Mission in collaboration with the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY), will convene policymakers, researchers, industry leaders, startups, civil society, and international organizations to shape the future of inclusive and impactful AI.

The summit aims to move the global AI conversation beyond safety and action to focus on tangible impacts and measurable outcomes. It seeks to highlight AI's transformative potential in sectors like healthcare, agriculture, education, and climate, with an emphasis on accessibility and ethical innovation. The event aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of leveraging technology for the public good and empowering all sections of society.

MeitY has outlined seven key objectives for the summit:

  • Democratize access to AI resources.
  • Enable inclusive development of AI applications and models.
  • Harness AI for a resilient and sustainable planet.
  • Make AI systems secure, transparent, human-centric, fair, and trusted.
  • Enable development of local, contextual, multilingual, and culturally grounded AI.
  • Empower the voices of the Global South.
  • Bridge the Global AI Divide and ensure its benefits accrue for all.

The summit is structured around three pillars: People, Planet, and Progress. It will champion human-centered AI that respects diversity, preserves dignity, and ensures no one is left behind in the AI revolution.

India is also working to expand its AI infrastructure to support scalable innovation. This includes improving access to GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) computing power and enhancing the AIKosh Datasets Platform, which currently hosts more than 1,000 datasets and 208 AI models.

The AI for All: Global Impact Challenge will showcase leading AI solutions with large-scale impact at the summit. This initiative is being implemented in partnership with Startup India, the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, and Digital India BHASHINI Division.

The India AI Impact Summit 2026 follows previous global AI summits in the UK, South Korea, and France. A pre-summit event, the Uttarakhand AI Impact Summit, was held in Dehradun, bringing together policymakers, industry leaders, startups, and academia to discuss AI's role in driving inclusive, sustainable development and advancing Uttarakhand's Digital India vision.
