Aurangabad, Bihar: Addressing a public gathering in Aurangabad, Jan Suraaj Party founder Prashant Kishor passionately urged citizens to prioritize their children's future when casting their votes in the upcoming Bihar Assembly Elections. Kishor emphasized that for too long, voters have been swayed by caste and religious sentiments, neglecting the crucial aspects of education and employment for their offspring. He expressed his hope that after November 14, the date of the vote count, no child in Bihar would need to leave their home in search of low-paying jobs elsewhere.
"The people of Bihar have never voted for the bright future of their children, due to which your children are wandering for education and employment," Kishor stated. He lamented the trend of people being more concerned about electing leaders from their own caste, regardless of their commitment to improving education and creating job opportunities.
Kishor highlighted that his Jan Suraaj movement has been working for the past three years to make citizens aware of the importance of voting with education and employment as key priorities. He appealed to the voters to elect clean candidates. "I only have one request from the people of Siwan, that they can make anyone victorious but make sure that a corrupt, cheat, fraud is not elected from this land...".
In his address, Kishor also took a swipe at traditional political parties, suggesting that even Lalu Prasad Yadav, despite his son's limited education, at least aspired to make him a leader, while many voters fail to prioritize their children's well-being when choosing their representatives. He said that people have not voted for their children's education and employment. He criticized the current state of affairs where youths are busy making reels instead of raising questions.
Furthermore, Kishor reacted to the controversy surrounding "H Files," without explicitly naming the film. Union Minister Kiren Rijiju has criticized Rahul Gandhi for wasting time and misleading the public ahead of the Bihar polls regarding the "H Files" issue. Kishor subtly addressed the matter by reiterating his commitment to addressing real issues facing the state, such as poverty, unemployment, and lack of development. He said that instead of focusing on divisive narratives, the focus should be on progress and prosperity of Bihar.
The Bihar Assembly elections are set to be held in two phases, on November 6 and November 11, with the results being declared on November 14. The ruling NDA, led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, is seeking re-election, while the opposition Mahagathbandhan, with Tejashwi Yadav as its chief ministerial candidate, is hoping to capitalize on anti-incumbency sentiments. Parties like Jan Suraaj are also in the fray.
