The 21st installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme is expected to be released in November 2025, bringing good news to farmers across India. This installment, like the previous ones, will provide ₹2,000 to eligible farmers, contributing to the annual financial assistance of ₹6,000 given under the scheme.
To ensure smooth and timely disbursal of the installment, the Ministry of Agriculture has started the verification process to confirm the eligibility of the farmers. Completion of e-KYC (electronic Know Your Customer) and land record verification are essential for farmers to receive the ₹2,000 without any delays.
Why e-KYC is Mandatory
The e-KYC process is crucial for maintaining the integrity and transparency of the PM-KISAN scheme. It helps to authenticate the identity of the farmers, prevent fraudulent claims, and streamline the distribution of benefits. By leveraging Aadhaar-based authentication, the government ensures that the financial assistance reaches the deserving beneficiaries directly.
How to Complete Aadhaar-Based OTP e-KYC
Completing the e-KYC process is simple and can be done online through the PM-Kisan portal. Here’s a step-by-step guide:
- Visit the PM-Kisan Website: Go to the official PM-Kisan website.
- Navigate to 'Farmers Corner': Find the 'Farmers Corner' section on the homepage.
- Click on 'e-KYC': Within the 'Farmers Corner,' click on the 'e-KYC' option.
- Enter Aadhaar Number: Enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number in the designated field.
- Click 'Search': Click the 'Search' button.
- Enter Mobile Number: Provide the mobile number that is registered with your Aadhaar Card.
- Click 'Get OTP': Click the 'Get OTP' button. An OTP (One-Time Password) will be sent to your registered mobile number.
- Enter OTP: Enter the OTP in the designated field on the website.
- Submit: Click 'Submit' to complete the e-KYC process.
Upon successful verification with the OTP, your e-KYC status will be updated on the portal within 24 hours.
Alternative e-KYC Methods
Besides the OTP-based e-KYC, there are alternative methods available:
- Biometric e-KYC at CSC Centres: Farmers can visit their nearest Common Service Centre (CSC) and complete the e-KYC through biometric authentication. This involves providing the Aadhaar number and authenticating using a fingerprint or iris scan.
- Face Authentication e-KYC via PM-Kisan Mobile App: The PM-Kisan mobile app offers a face authentication-based e-KYC method. To use this, download the PM-KISAN mobile app and the Aadhaar Face RD app. Open the PM-Kisan app, log in with your registered mobile number, and select the 'e-KYC' option. Enter your Aadhaar number and scan your face to complete the e-KYC.
How to Check Payment Status
Farmers can check their payment status by visiting the official website pmkisan.gov.in. After opening the site, they need to click on “Beneficiary Status”, enter their Aadhaar or mobile number, and the screen will show whether the installment has been sent or not.
States Receiving Early Installments
Notably, some states have already received the 21st installment of the PM-Kisan scheme ahead of others. Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Uttarakhand and Jammu and Kashmir received the installment earlier because these states were affected by severe floods and landslides in September 2025.
The PM-KISAN scheme continues to be a crucial support for small and marginal farmers in India. The upcoming 21st installment in November 2025 will provide timely financial assistance, and completing the e-KYC process is essential for all beneficiaries to ensure they receive the funds without any interruption.
