Director Maruthi has released a brand new poster for "The Raja Saab," celebrating Prabhas's 23 years in the Indian film industry. The film is slated for release on January 9, 2026.
Prabhas, fondly known as "Rebel Star" and "Darling" by his fans, made his debut in 2002 with the action drama "Eeswar," directed by Jayanth C. Paranjee. Since then, he has starred in several major Telugu films, including S.S. Rajamouli's "Chatrapathi," "Baahubali: The Beginning," and "Baahubali: The Conclusion".
Maruthi shared the new poster on social media, writing, "23 years ago, he took his first step into cinema. Today, he wraps his journey in The Raja Saab on the same day. I feel blessed and lucky to be part of his victorious journey. I'm confident this film will bring a completely different energy".
The poster features Prabhas in a stylish avatar. Another poster captures Prabhas in a striking red outfit with a commanding presence, hinting at a vibrant dance number.
"The Raja Saab" is described as a romantic horror comedy produced by TG Vishwa Prasad under People Media Factory, with music by Thaman S. The film is co-produced by Vivek Kuchibhotla and Sashikanth. The movie is expected to showcase Prabhas in a new light, blending romance, action, and fantasy.
The film's narrative revolves around a haunted mansion filled with ghosts, hidden treasures, and strange secrets. Prabhas will be seen in a dual role, alongside Sanjay Dutt, who is making his Telugu debut, Nidhhi Agerwal, Malavika Mohanan, and Riddhi Kumar. Sanjay Dutt is expected to play a mysterious character with supernatural abilities, adding a dark element to the film. The supporting cast includes Boman Irani, Zarina Wahab, Samuthirakani, Vennela Kishore, Brahmanandam, Yogi Babu, and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar.
Initially, the filmmakers intended to release the first single in October to coincide with Prabhas's birthday, but it was later pushed to the first week of November. The song is now expected to be released in the third week of November as part of a revised promotional strategy.
Maruthi has assured fans that the delay is to ensure the highest quality, stating, "We understand the love and impatience, and we promise to deliver nothing but the absolute best".
Besides "The Raja Saab," Prabhas has other projects in the pipeline, including "Spirit" with Sandeep Reddy Vanga, "Fauji" with Hanu Raghavapudi, and "Kalki 2898 AD Part 2" directed by Nag Ashwin.
