Siwan Election Results 2025: A Three-Way Battle Unfolds
Siwan, Bihar – The Siwan Assembly constituency witnessed a fiercely contested election in 2025, with the results eagerly awaited. The key candidates in the fray were Mangal Pandey of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Awadh Bihari Chaudhary of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), and Intekhab Ahmed representing the Jan Suraaj Party.
As the counting of votes commenced on November 14th, 2025, all eyes were on Siwan to see which way the electoral wind would blow. The election, held across two phases on November 6th and November 11th, saw a voter turnout of 57.3% in Bihar, slightly higher than in 2020. This marginal increase in voter participation added another layer of intrigue to the already tense atmosphere.
Mangal Pandey, a prominent leader from the BJP, aimed to wrest control of the seat. The BJP is in alliance with the Janata Dal United (JDU), Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM), and Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM).
Awadh Bihari Chaudhary, representing the RJD, sought to retain his hold on the constituency. In the 2020 Bihar Assembly Elections, Chaudhary emerged victorious, defeating BJP's Om Prakash Yadav by a narrow margin of 1,973 votes. Chaudhary secured 76,785 votes, with a vote share of 45.3%. The RJD has formed an alliance with the Congress, Left parties, and Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) in Bihar.
Intekhab Ahmed of the Jan Suraaj Party was determined to make his mark and disrupt the traditional stronghold of the BJP and RJD in the region.
In the 2015 elections, the BJP's Vyas Deo Prasad won the seat with 55,156 votes, defeating JDU candidate Bablu Prasad.
The Siwan constituency is witnessing a high-profile contest, with all three candidates leaving no stone unturned in their effort to secure victory. As the counting progresses, it remains to be seen whether Mangal Pandey can swing the seat for the BJP, whether Awadh Bihari Chaudhary can retain his dominance for the RJD, or whether Intekhab Ahmed can emerge as a game-changer for the Jan Suraaj Party.
