Beyond Koffee Tales: Unveiling the Matchmaker Who Introduced Katrina Kaif to Vicky Kaushal.

Contrary to popular belief, Karan Johar and his infamous Koffee couch weren't responsible for sparking the initial connection between Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal. Instead, the person to thank is comedian and actor Sunil Grover.

Vicky Kaushal recently shared the story of his first encounter with Katrina Kaif on the show "Two Much with Twinkle and Kajol". He revealed that their paths first crossed at an award show where he was hosting. He performed on stage with Katrina to the song "Chikni Chameli". It was backstage after the performance that Sunil Grover formally introduced them. Grover and Kaif had previously worked together in the film "Bharat" and were friends.

Kaushal recalls that Katrina, within the first five minutes of their meeting, playfully started giving him tips on how to host the show, even though he had already completed most of his hosting duties. He only had to go back on stage to say "goodnight".

Their paths crossed again at another award show, leading to a memorable and widely circulated moment. During a scripted segment, Vicky jokingly proposed to Katrina on stage, asking, "Why don't you get married to a nice guy like Vicky?". Although they weren't dating at the time, this lighthearted interaction ignited rumors and fan theories about their chemistry. Kaushal clarified that proposing to Katrina was part of a gag where he had to ask the same question to every actress that came on stage that night. However, the clip of him proposing to Katrina went viral.

After dating quietly, Vicky Kaushal and Katrina Kaif tied the knot on December 9, 2021, in a private ceremony in Rajasthan. On November 7, 2025, the couple welcomed their first child, a baby boy.
