PM Modi Vows Against RJD's Return in Bihar, Cements Victory with Strong Words and Assurances.

Patna, Bihar – In a resounding victory speech following the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a sharp rebuke to the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), declaring that the era of "Katta Sarkar" would never return to Bihar. Addressing jubilant supporters at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) headquarters in Delhi on Friday, Modi asserted that the people of Bihar had voted decisively for development and prosperity, breaking all previous records in the process.

The Prime Minister framed the election as a rejection of the RJD's alleged "jungle raj," a term he has frequently used to describe the party's 15-year rule characterized by lawlessness and stagnation. Modi contrasted this with the National Democratic Alliance's (NDA) vision of progress, highlighting the expansion of infrastructure, including expressways, bridges, and universities, under the current government.

"When I used to speak about Jungle Raj and Katta Sarkar, the RJD party raised no objections. However, it unsettled the Congress. Today, I want to reiterate that Katta Sarkar will never return to Bihar," Modi declared. He accused the RJD of prioritizing personal gains and promoting a culture of fear and corruption, alleging that the party aimed to provide youth with "katta" (firearms), while the NDA sought to equip them with tools for advancement, such as sports equipment.

Modi also took aim at the opposition's "appeasement-based MY formula," referring to a political strategy allegedly focused on குறிப்பிட்ட minority groups. In contrast, he emphasized the NDA's "new positive 'MY Formula' — women and youth," attributing the alliance's victory to their support. He highlighted the record voter turnout, particularly among women, as a testament to the public's desire for change and development.

The Prime Minister lauded the NDA's performance as the "biggest mandate" since 2010, crediting the victory to good governance, development initiatives, public welfare, and social justice. He expressed gratitude to the people of Bihar for their trust and pledged to serve the state with renewed commitment. He also acknowledged the contributions of NDA allies, including Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Chirag Paswan, Jitan Ram Manjhi, and Upendra Kushwaha, for their united efforts.

According to the Election Commission of India (ECI), the NDA secured a resounding victory in the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025, with the BJP leading in 93 seats and the Janata Dal (United) or JD(U), in 83. Other NDA constituents, such as the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) or LJPRV, the Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RSHTLKM), and the Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular), or HAMS, also contributed to the alliance's success. The RJD, the largest party in the opposition Grand Alliance, trailed behind with 26 seats.

The election results solidify Nitish Kumar's position as the state's longest-serving Chief Minister, potentially paving the way for his fifth consecutive term. The NDA's victory is seen as an endorsement of the "double engine" government led by Modi and Kumar, with Union Home Minister Amit Shah celebrating it as a mandate for women's safety, good governance, and welfare for the poor.
