The investigation into the death of Raja Raghuvanshi has taken a dramatic turn, with Raja's mother making startling accusations against Sonam, Raja's wife, who is already the prime suspect in his murder. While police investigations have thus far focused on a love affair and a murder-for-hire plot, these new claims introduce a chilling element of the occult, alleging that Sonam may have been involved in black magic rituals and even considered human sacrifice.
The accusations come amidst an already sensational case. Raja and Sonam, an Indore couple, married on May 11th. Just days later, they embarked on a honeymoon to Meghalaya, a trip that would end in tragedy. On May 23rd, the couple disappeared after checking out of a homestay in Nongriat village. On June 2nd, Raja's body was discovered in a deep gorge, about 20 kilometers from where they were last seen. The autopsy revealed that he had been struck on the head with a sharp object.
Suspicion quickly fell on Sonam, who had also disappeared. Police investigations revealed that Sonam was allegedly in love with Raj Kushwaha, an employee at her family's business, and had been forced into the marriage with Raja to uphold family honor. According to police sources, Sonam had warned her family of "consequences" if she was pressured to marry Raja. It is alleged that she conspired with her lover, Raj Kushwaha, to hire three men to kill her husband.
Sonam was apprehended on June 8th after surrendering to police in Uttar Pradesh. Three alleged accomplices were also arrested. Police say that Sonam had planned the murder meticulously, even booking tickets to Guwahati and coordinating the plot with Raj over phone calls shortly after returning to her maternal home in Indore on May 15th, just four days after her wedding. To delay physical intimacy with Raja and buy time, Sonam allegedly convinced him to visit the Kamakhya temple before heading to Meghalaya, claiming it was a gesture of respect.
According to sources, Sonam was so determined to kill her husband that she planned to push him off a mountain herself if the hired men failed. "If Vishal, Anand, and Akash are not able to kill Raja, I will push him down the mountain while taking a photo," Sonam allegedly told Raj Kushwaha.
Now, Raja's mother's claims add another layer of horror to the case. While details of the specific allegations remain limited, the mention of "black magic" and "sacrifice" evokes disturbing images and raises questions about the motivations behind the crime. These allegations are currently unverified and would likely form part of the ongoing police investigation.
The case has sparked public outrage and has brought attention to the pressures of arranged marriages and the importance of individual choice. It serves as a stark reminder of how societal expectations can drive individuals to desperate measures. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are working to uncover the full truth behind Raja's murder.
