Vishnu Manchu has revealed his dream cast for a Ramayana-based film, envisioning Alia Bhatt as Sita and Suriya as Lord Rama. In a recent conversation, Vishnu Manchu shared that he has a fully developed script that traces Ravana's journey from birth to death.
Manchu's vision for the epic's cast extends beyond the lead roles. He wants his father, Mohan Babu, to play Ravana. He also has specific actors in mind for other key characters: Suriya's brother, Karthi, as Indrajit; Kalyan Ram, brother of Jr NTR, as Lakshman; and veteran actor Sathyaraj as Jatayu. Manchu himself expressed a desire to portray Lord Hanuman. However, he mentioned that director Raghavendra Rao wanted him to play Indrajit instead.
The "Kannappa" actor shared that the idea for this project was conceived in 2009, and he even approached Suriya at that time. He had the script and dialogues ready, and Raghavendra Rao was slated to direct. However, the project didn't materialize due to budget constraints.
This isn't the first time Alia Bhatt's name has been associated with the role of Sita. There were earlier reports that she was considered for the role in Nitesh Tiwari's "Ramayana," potentially opposite Ranbir Kapoor as Ram. However, those reports also indicated that Alia Bhatt had to step away from the project due to date issues.
Notably, Nitesh Tiwari has also taken the internet by storm with the first glimpse of his upcoming movie 'Ramayana', starring Ranbir Kapoor, Yash and Sai Pallavi in the lead roles.
Vishnu Manchu was last seen in "Kannappa", a mythological film where he played the lead role. The film also featured Akshay Kumar, Prabhas, Mohanlal, Kajal Aggarwal and Preity Mukundhan.
