Nagpur, India – In a shocking incident, Priyanshu Kshatriya, also known as Babu Chhetri, an actor who gained recognition for his role in the film "Jhund" starring Amitabh Bachchan, was brutally murdered in Nagpur. The incident occurred in the Jaripatka area of Nagpur, with the primary suspect identified as Dhruv Sahu, a close friend of the victim. Sahu has been arrested in connection with the crime.

According to police reports, the two men went to an under-construction house in Om Sai Nagari-2 on Tuesday night, where they allegedly consumed alcohol and marijuana. An argument ensued, escalating into a violent confrontation. Dhruv allegedly snatched a knife from Priyanshu and stabbed him multiple times.

Local residents reported hearing loud shouts and alerted the authorities. Police arrived at the scene to find Priyanshu lying in a pool of blood, with a plastic wire coiled around his body. He was rushed to Mayo Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival. Initial reports indicate that Priyanshu was found in a semi-nude condition, wrapped in plastic.

A murder case has been registered against Dhruv Sahu under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, based on a complaint filed by the victim's sister. Preliminary investigations reveal that both Priyanshu and Dhruv have a history of criminal activity. Priyanshu had over 15 cases registered against him, including theft and assault, while Dhruv faced five criminal cases.

Priyanshu, 21, who resided in Lumbini Nagar, had previously shared his story of how he landed a role in "Jhund". He recounted how director Nagraj Manjule approached him after seeing him in his locality near the railway tracks, where he and other children would collect and sell coal from trains. Priyanshu's portrayal of "Babu Chhetri" in "Jhund" earned him considerable appreciation. The film, directed by Nagraj Manjule, tells the story of a football coach, played by Amitabh Bachchan, who inspires children from a slum to form a football team and overcome societal barriers.

The news of Priyanshu's death has sent shockwaves through the film fraternity and his fans. Further investigations are underway.
