Enrique Iglesias considers extending India trip to see Taj Mahal after Mumbai concert: Report

Enrique Iglesias, the Spanish pop icon, is reportedly considering extending his stay in India following his Mumbai concert, with a visit to the Taj Mahal in Agra on his itinerary, according to sources close to the singer. The "Bailamos" singer is set to perform in Mumbai on October 29th and 30th at MMRDA Grounds in Bandra Kurla Complex, marking his return to the country after 13 years.

The overwhelming response from fans led to the announcement of a second concert in Mumbai. Iglesias, known for his hits like "Hero" and "Tonight," last toured India in 2012, performing in Delhi, Pune, and Bengaluru.

"I've missed performing in India. The fans there are some of the most loyal and passionate in the world," Iglesias stated. "Since my first show back in 2004, the love has always been unreal. I can't wait to get back to Mumbai and bring them this new show".

Sources suggest that Iglesias, who has expressed his fondness for India in the past, is keen to explore the country beyond the concert venue. A visit to the Taj Mahal, the iconic symbol of love, is said to be high on his list. "Enrique has always been fascinated by Indian history and culture," a source revealed. "He wants to make the most of his time here and experience the beauty of the Taj Mahal firsthand".

The potential visit has already generated buzz among fans, with many expressing their excitement on social media. If the plans materialize, Iglesias will join the ranks of numerous international celebrities who have visited the monument.

EVA Live, in partnership with BEW Live, is producing and promoting the Mumbai concerts. Deepak Chaudhary, founder and managing director of EVA Live, called Iglesias's return to India a "historic moment". "The anticipation among fans has been palpable, and we are overjoyed to facilitate this reunion," he added.

Iglesias's concert is expected to feature a career-spanning setlist, including both his classic hits and contemporary chart-toppers. His magnetic stage presence and signature blend of pop are anticipated to create an unforgettable experience for attendees.

The singer's return to India comes amid a resurgence of interest in international acts performing in the country. In the past year, India has hosted concerts by prominent artists such as Coldplay, Guns N' Roses, Maroon 5 and Bryan Adams.

As fans eagerly await Iglesias's performance, the possibility of him extending his trip to visit the Taj Mahal adds another layer of excitement to his long-awaited return to India.
