Patna – In a day of significant political developments in Bihar, Nitish Kumar was sworn in as Chief Minister for a record tenth time. Following the oath-taking ceremony at Patna's Gandhi Maidan, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav extended his congratulations to Kumar and the newly appointed ministers.
Yadav, who had been largely silent since the Bihar election results, conveyed his hopes for the new government in a statement released shortly after the ceremony. "Heartfelt congratulations to the esteemed Shri Nitish Kumar Ji on taking the oath as the Chief Minister of Bihar," Yadav stated. He also extended "heartfelt best wishes to all the ministers of the Bihar government who took oath as members of the Council of Ministers".
The RJD leader emphasized the importance of fulfilling promises made to the people of Bihar. "I hope that the new government will live up to the hopes and expectations of responsible people, fulfill its promises and declarations, and bring positive and qualitative changes in the lives of the people of Bihar," he said.
The swearing-in ceremony was attended by prominent figures, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Ministers, and Chief Ministers from BJP-ruled states. Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha, both of whom served as Deputy Chief Ministers in the previous NDA government, were also sworn in. The new Bihar Cabinet is expected to consist of 16 ministers from the BJP and 14 from JD(U), including several new faces.
Nitish Kumar's son, Nishant Kumar, expressed his pride in his father's achievement. "I congratulate my father as he takes oath for the 10th time," he said, also conveying "gratitude and appreciation to all ministers and everyone who has come to attend the ceremony".
Other political figures also commented on the new government. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav expressed hope that Bihar would progress under Nitish Kumar's leadership. Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal stated that the people of Bihar had chosen rapid development and that Bihar would become a "Viksit Bihar" by 2047 under Prime Minister Modi's vision. BJP leader Mangal Pandey, after taking oath as a minister, affirmed his commitment to working with both PM Modi and CM Nitish Kumar to advance Bihar.
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai congratulated Nitish Kumar, calling Bihar's choice a step toward good governance.
