Following a reported ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan, there are indications that the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025 might resume in Rawalpindi. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is reportedly exploring options to resume the tournament as soon as possible.

The PSL administration has contacted franchises, instructing them to keep their foreign players in Dubai and asking local players to prepare for a potential resumption. The PSL administration is reportedly working on a plan to gather all teams in Islamabad, with the remaining matches potentially being held at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

The tenth edition of the PSL, also referred to as HBL PSL X for sponsorship reasons, began on April 11, 2025. The tournament was originally scheduled to take place across four cities: Karachi, Lahore, Multan, and Rawalpindi. However, the PCB postponed the league indefinitely on May 9 amid the 2025 India–Pakistan conflict. The decision to postpone the league came after an attempted drone attack near the Rawalpindi stadium and heightened hostilities along the Line of Control (LoC).

Prior to the postponement, the PCB had confirmed that the PSL would continue as planned despite escalating regional tensions. However, after India launched strikes on alleged terror camps inside Pakistan, a PSL match in Rawalpindi was postponed after a drone strike near the stadium. The PCB then considered relocating the remaining matches to Karachi. Later, the decision was made to shift the remaining fixtures to the UAE. However, this plan was cancelled due to the worsening situation.

The ceasefire between India and Pakistan was reached after days of escalating military exchanges, including missile strikes and drone incursions. The United States reportedly brokered the ceasefire agreement. However, hours after the ceasefire was announced, reports emerged of violations.

Before the PSL was suspended, Quetta Gladiators led the table and had already qualified for the playoffs. Karachi Kings and Islamabad United followed with 10 points each, while Lahore Qalandars sat in fourth place with nine points. Peshawar Zalmi remained in playoff contention, while Multan Sultans were eliminated.

The remaining fixtures include five league games and three knockout ties: the Qualifier, Eliminator 1, Eliminator 2, and the Final. The Qualifier was set to take place in Rawalpindi on May 13, while both Eliminators and the final were scheduled for Gaddafi Stadium.

The 2025 PSL season is the last under the ten-year agreement for a six-team structure, HBL Pakistan's title sponsorship, and the current broadcast rights deals. The PCB plans to expand the league to eight teams from 2026.

An official update from the PCB regarding the resumption of the PSL is expected in the coming days.
