Aamir Khan Gears Up for Dadasaheb Phalke Biopic: Shooting Commences Soon, Script Finalized Confirms Grandson.

Recent reports have emerged regarding Aamir Khan's upcoming biopic on Dadasaheb Phalke, the father of Indian cinema, which has been creating significant buzz. The film, which is said to be directed by Rajkumar Hirani, has been in development for four years.

Chandrashekhar Srikrishna Pusalkar, Dadasaheb Phalke's grandson, has voiced his support for the project. He also stated that he had checked with Aamir's team, and they confirmed that the reports about script re-editing were indeed fake. According to Pusalkar, the script is finalized, and the project will commence soon. He believes the film will serve as a role model and help people understand his grandfather's contribution. Pusalkar has also shared anecdotes from his grandfather's life to support the film. He considers himself fortunate to be born into the family of such a legendary figure.

However, conflicting reports suggest that the film's production has been delayed due to Aamir Khan's dissatisfaction with the script. A report by Bollywood Hungama stated that Aamir felt the script lacked the necessary elements for a theatrical release. Specifically, he expected the script to blend laughter, emotion, and drama, which he felt was missing. This led him to request a rewrite from Rajkumar Hirani and Abhijat Joshi. These reports also stated that Hirani and Joshi were surprised by Aamir's feedback and are now considering their next steps. The film, initially planned to begin production in October 2025, is no longer on track, and Aamir is reportedly exploring other scripts.

Despite these conflicting reports, the film is intended to be Aamir Khan and Rajkumar Hirani's third collaboration, following the success of "3 Idiots" and "PK". The film is set against the backdrop of India's independence struggle and will trace the journey of Dadasaheb Phalke, who pioneered the Indian film industry. A press release from Aamir's team revealed that VFX studios in Los Angeles have already created AI-based designs for the film's era and period.

Dadasaheb Phalke, born Dhundiraj Govind Phalke, is celebrated as the father of Indian cinema. In 1913, he directed "Raja Harishchandra," India's first full-length feature film. His other notable works include "Lanka Dahan," "Shri Krishna Janma," and "Kaliya Mardan".
