Reports have surfaced indicating that Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban have separated after nearly two decades of marriage. The couple, who exchanged vows in June 2006, are reportedly living apart since the beginning of the summer.
Sources indicate that Kidman, 58, has been "fighting to save the marriage". TMZ initially broke the news, noting that their two teenage daughters, Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14, have been residing with Kidman in their family home in Nashville. Urban, 57, has reportedly acquired his own residence in Nashville.
The separation appears to be difficult for Kidman, with one source telling People that "Nicole's sister [Antonia] has been a rock and the entire Kidman family has come together to support one another".
The exact reasons for the separation remain unclear, but some sources attribute it to their demanding work schedules. One source stated that, "Keith never sees Nicole, either she is filming or he is on tour". It is uncertain whether the couple will proceed with a divorce.
Kidman and Urban's relationship began in 2005, and they soon became known for their public displays of affection. Kidman has often spoken about Urban being her "deep, deep love", and has credited him with helping her through difficult times. Urban has credited Kidman for supporting him on his sobriety journey.
In June 2025, Kidman posted a photo on Instagram of herself with Urban to celebrate their wedding anniversary. In April 2025, she spoke about their strong bond, stating, "I'm so lucky that I have Keith, who's just my love, my deep, deep love. That gives me the ability to go and do whatever I have to do because I know where I can come back to".
Kidman was previously married to Tom Cruise from 1990 to 2001. Urban's "High and Alive" world tour commenced in May, and after completing the American leg in Nashville in October, he is scheduled to take his music overseas in March 2026. Kidman recently completed filming Practical Magic 2 in London.
