Bihar NDA alliance likely to unveil seat-sharing agreement for upcoming elections later today in anticipated press conference.

The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is poised to publicly announce its seat-sharing agreement for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections today. This announcement follows a series of high-stakes meetings and negotiations among the alliance partners. The Bihar Assembly elections are scheduled to be held in two phases on November 6 and November 11, with the vote count on November 14.

Sources indicate that a broad consensus has been reached, although some disagreements over specific constituencies have slightly delayed the formal declaration. Senior leaders from the BJP, JD(U), and other NDA constituents, including LJP (Ram Vilas), HAM, and RLM, have been engaged in intense discussions to finalize the seat allocation.

According to reports, the JD(U) is likely to contest 101 seats, while the BJP will field candidates in 100. Chirag Paswan's Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) is expected to be allotted 26 seats. The remaining seats will be distributed among the other alliance partners, including Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) and Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM). However, negotiations between the LJP and BJP are still ongoing regarding the final allocation of some constituencies.

Jitan Ram Manjhi's Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) had been seeking at least 15 seats but was reportedly offered only 7-8, leading to some dissatisfaction. Similarly, Chirag Paswan's LJP had initially demanded 40 seats but may accept 25-26.

Bihar BJP president Dilip Jaiswal stated that discussions over the seat-sharing formula are complete, and a consensus has been reached. He also dismissed speculations about discontent within the NDA. The BJP's central leadership is expected to make the formal announcement regarding seat sharing and candidate lists.

The 2025 Bihar Assembly election is crucial for the ruling NDA government, led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, which currently holds 138 seats in the 243-member Assembly. The opposition INDIA bloc holds 103 seats and is aiming for a strong comeback.

The BJP is also accelerating its candidate selection process. The party is expected to release its list of candidates following approval from the central leadership in Delhi. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is set to campaign extensively for the BJP in Bihar.

Meanwhile, the opposition Grand Alliance is also working to finalize its seat-sharing arrangement. RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav has announced that the Mahagathbandhan government will ensure a government job for every household in Bihar within 20 days of forming the government.
