Recent reports have indicated a possible shift in the release date for BLACKPINK's highly anticipated full album. While initial expectations pointed towards a November release, speculation is now suggesting a potential delay until December.
The rumors of a December release began circulating after reports that Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa are in the final stages of album preparation. The group had previously planned to drop a digital single, "JUMP," which was released in July and topped charts, followed by the full album. However, their demanding "Deadline" world tour schedule and simultaneous album production seemingly led to an adjustment in the timeline.
In response to these reports, YG Entertainment, BLACKPINK's agency, issued a statement that neither confirmed nor denied the December timeline. A representative stated, "As this is BLACKPINK's first album release in a long time, we are putting our utmost effort into post-production to ensure top quality". The agency added that details regarding the release date and promotional schedule would be announced through official channels at a later time. This cautious approach from YG Entertainment has left fans eager for an official announcement.
Adding to the anticipation, YG founder Yang Hyun-Suk had previously hinted at a possible November release for the album. In August 2025, Yang Hyun-Suk stated on YouTube that the company would do its best to release BLACKPINK's album soon.
Since their last album, "Born Pink," in 2022, the BLACKPINK members have been actively pursuing solo endeavors. Lisa has been featured on chart-topping collaborations, and Jennie made her acting debut in "The Idol". Despite these solo activities, the members have assured fans that they have been working together on new music. Lisa mentioned in an interview with Variety, "We were in the studio a few days ago. We can't wait to see the Blinks again," also teasing that their comeback is coming soon.
Regardless of the exact release date, BLACKPINK's return is shaping up to be a major event in the K-pop world. Their July 2025 single "JUMP" debuted at No.1 and broke the record as the fastest K-pop girl group song to hit 300 million streams on Spotify.
