Delhi Blast: Terrorist Umar Mohammad Assembled Bomb In Red Fort Car Parking: Sources

Sources close to the ongoing investigation into the Delhi blast that occurred on November 10, 2025, have revealed that the primary suspect, Dr. Umar Mohammad, assembled the bomb within the parking area of the Red Fort. The high-intensity explosion, which resulted in the deaths of 13 people and injuries to several others, has prompted a wide-ranging investigation involving multiple agencies.

Forensic investigations indicate that Dr. Umar Mohammad masterminded the bomb-making operation, creating a powerful explosive by mixing ammonium nitrate with fuel oil and transformer oil. Approximately 2,900 kg of ammonium nitrate was seized from a storage facility in Faridabad, leading to the arrest of several of his associates.

The investigation has uncovered a meticulously planned terror operation. A self-recorded video of Dr. Umar Mohammad has surfaced, revealing his "martyrdom operation" mindset and indicating extensive planning for a large-scale attack. Authorities believe the video was intended to brainwash others.

CCTV footage has been crucial in mapping Umar's movements leading up to the explosion. Investigators tracked his white Hyundai i20 across Faridabad, Nuh, and Delhi, noting a three-hour halt at a parking lot before arriving near the Red Fort. Authorities are investigating his activities during this halt, including the possibility of communication with handlers.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested Jasir Bilal Wani, described as an "active co-conspirator," for providing technical support. Wani allegedly modified drones and attempted to make rockets. Another aide was arrested for facilitating the purchase of the car used in the blast, bringing the NIA closer to uncovering the full conspiracy.

Umar Mohammad, originally from Koil village in Pulwama, was an assistant professor at Al Falah University in Faridabad. His family described him as a reserved individual, but police reports indicate a change in behavior in recent months. He had been absent from his university responsibilities since October 30 and made frequent trips between Faridabad and Delhi.

The Union government has ordered a forensic audit of Al-Falah University, and the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) has suspended the university's membership. The investigation suggests links between the terror module and proscribed organizations such as Jaish-e-Mohammed and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind.

In the aftermath of the blast, security has been beefed up across India. Delhi Police have registered a case under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), the Explosives Act, and relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
