Anmol Bishnoi, Suspect in NCP Leader Baba Siddique's Murder Case, Extradited from US to India

Anmol Bishnoi, the alleged mastermind in the murder of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Baba Siddique, has been deported from the United States and arrived in India on Wednesday. Officials from the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and Delhi Police were present at the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport in Delhi to take him into custody.

Anmol Bishnoi is the younger brother of the jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and is implicated in more than 18 cases across Delhi, Haryana, and Punjab. These cases include the murder of Baba Siddique in October 2024 and a shooting at the residence of Bollywood actor Salman Khan in April 2024. He is also accused of providing logistical support, including arms and ammunition, to the shooters involved in the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala in 2022.

Baba Siddique, a former Maharashtra minister and three-time MLA, was shot dead on October 12, 2024, outside his son Zeeshan's office in Bandra. Anmol Bishnoi was allegedly in contact with the shooters involved in the NCP leader's murder.

According to officials, Anmol Bishnoi had fled to the US using a fake passport under the name 'Bhanu Pratap' with a Faridabad address approximately a month before Moosewala's murder. He was arrested by US immigration authorities in November 2024 for traveling with fraudulent documents. Although he was later released with an ankle bracelet tracker, India had already requested his extradition in January 2024. In March 2025, the US Department of State requested information about the cases against him, including technical evidence and financial details.

The NIA had announced a reward of Rs 10 lakh for information leading to Anmol Bishnoi's arrest. A Red Corner Notice was also issued against him on December 6, 2022. He has been chargesheeted by the NIA in two cases and by the Mumbai Police Crime Branch in connection with the Siddique murder and Salman Khan shooting incidents.

Zeeshan Siddique, Baba Siddique's son, confirmed that he received an email from the US Department of Homeland Security informing him of Anmol Bishnoi's "removal" from the United States. The email stated that Anmol Bishnoi was removed from the United States by the federal government on November 18, 2025.

Mumbai Police had submitted two proposals regarding Anmol Bishnoi's extradition. Given the multiple cases registered against him across the country, the Union government will decide which agency will be granted his custody first.
