New Delhi/Mumbai, November 19, 2025 – Anmol Bishnoi, a key accused in the murder of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Baba Siddique, has been deported from the United States and arrested upon landing in Delhi today. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) took him into custody.
Zeeshan Siddique, son of the late Baba Siddique, confirmed he received official notification regarding Bishnoi's removal from the U.S. He expressed his desire for Bishnoi to be brought to justice in India for his alleged crimes. Speaking to the media, Zeeshan stated that Anmol should be interrogated about his father's murder.
Baba Siddique was shot dead on October 12, 2024, outside his son Zeeshan's office in Bandra, Mumbai. Anmol Bishnoi was named in the chargesheet filed by the Mumbai police as the "plotter of the murder".
An NIA spokesperson stated that Anmol was chargesheeted in March 2023 for actively aiding designated individual terrorist Goldy Brar and his brother Lawrence Bishnoi in committing various acts of terrorism in India between 2020 and 2023. The NIA had also announced a reward of Rs 10 lakh on Anmol shortly after his alleged role in Siddique’s murder in October 2024.
According to the NIA, Anmol is the 19th accused to be arrested for his involvement in the terror syndicate led by his jailed brother, Lawrence Bishnoi. The agency revealed that Anmol was arrested "for his involvement in the terror-syndicate led by his jailed brother, Lawrence Bishnoi". Investigations revealed Anmol provided shelter and logistical support to the shooters and operatives of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang and was involved in extortion activities from foreign soil.
Anmol had been absconding since 2022. He fled to the U.S. on May 15, 2022, using a fake passport under the name Bhanu Pratap. He was detained in Sacramento last November for illegal entry, and the FBI confirmed his identity through DNA and voice sample matching. His asylum application was rejected by a Louisiana court. A Red Corner Notice had been issued against him on December 6, 2022.
Mumbai police had approached a court to initiate Anmol's extradition and communicated with the Ministry of External Affairs through the Ministry of Home Affairs. They had sent two proposals regarding his extradition. There are multiple cases registered against Anmol across the country, including 18 cases with offences such as extortion. In addition to the Baba Siddique murder case, Anmol is also a wanted accused in connection with the firing outside Bollywood star Salman Khan's residence in April 2024. He is also accused of providing arms and logistical support to the shooters of Sidhu Moosewala, who was killed on May 29, 2022.
Authorities are focusing on Anmol's alleged role in the murder of Sidhu Moosewala, the Baba Siddique killing, and the firing outside Salman Khan's house. The Union government will decide which agency will get his custody first, given the multiple cases against him.
