A Delhi court has remanded Anmol Bishnoi, brother of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, to 11 days of custody under the National Investigation Agency (NIA). The order was passed by Additional Sessions Judge Prashant Sharma of Patiala House Courts. The NIA had sought 15 days of custody to further investigate the conspiracy and gather more evidence.
Anmol Bishnoi is wanted in connection with several high-profile criminal cases, including the murder of NCP leader Baba Siddique, the killing of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala, and the firing outside actor Salman Khan's residence. He is also accused of managing extortion operations for the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, which operates in Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, and Delhi.
Anmol Bishnoi had been absconding since 2022 and is the 19th accused to be arrested for involvement in the terror-gangster syndicate led by his brother, Lawrence Bishnoi. He fled to the United States using a forged passport. In November 2024, he was arrested by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) for illegal entry into the country. After his asylum application was denied by a Louisiana court, he was deported from the U.S. on November 18, 2025. The NIA arrested him upon arrival in India.
The NIA stated that Anmol Bishnoi had actively aided designated terrorist Goldy Brar and Lawrence Bishnoi in committing various acts of terrorism in India between 2020 and 2023. He was chargesheeted by the NIA in March 2023. The agency is seeking to investigate the modus operandi of the terror-gangster network, the source of funding, the involvement of other members, and the operations of the syndicate. The NIA also told the court that they needed Anmol's custody to procure details of various social media accounts.
During the court proceedings, Anmol Bishnoi denied the allegations against him and confirmed that he had received a copy of the arrest memo and engaged an advocate. The court directed the NIA to ensure his safety and ordered that he be examined in a government hospital every 48 hours. Anmol will remain in NIA custody until November 29, when he will be presented before the court again.
The NIA team, led by Special Public Prosecutor Rahul Tyagi, stated that Anmol is a "very important member of the terror-gangster syndicate" and possesses "crucial information" needed for the investigation. The agency believes that Anmol operated from abroad and was part of a terror gangster syndicate engaged in terrorist activities. The court agreed that the allegations against Anmol were serious and that extensive investigation was required.
