Fugitive gangster Anmol Bishnoi, the younger brother of jailed mob boss Lawrence Bishnoi, landed at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, after being deported from the United States. Immediately upon arrival, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) took him into custody. Bishnoi had been absconding since 2022 and is the 19th accused to be arrested for his involvement in the terror syndicate led by his brother.

Anmol Bishnoi is implicated in a string of high-profile criminal cases, including the murder of NCP leader Baba Siddique in October 2024, the assassination of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala in May 2022, and a shooting incident outside Bollywood actor Salman Khan's residence in April 2024. He is wanted in over 18 criminal cases across Delhi, Haryana, and Punjab. The NIA had formally chargesheeted him in March 2023, and a reward of ₹10 lakh was announced for information leading to his arrest.

After fleeing India using a fake passport, Anmol sought asylum in the U.S., but his request was rejected. He was arrested in Sacramento in November of last year for illegal entry. The FBI later confirmed his identity through DNA and voice sample matches. He had been lodged at the Pottawattamie County jail in Iowa, where he sought asylum while being investigated by ICE for cross-border crime and undocumented immigration.

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) officially notified victim family members, including Zeeshan Siddiqui, son of the late Baba Siddique, about the deportation. The notification confirmed that Anmol Bishnoi was removed from the United States by the federal government on November 18, 2025.

NIA investigations revealed that Anmol actively aided designated individual terrorist Goldy Brar and Lawrence Bishnoi in committing various acts of terrorism in India between 2020 and 2023. While based in the U.S., Anmol allegedly continued to run terror syndicates and execute terrorist acts for the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, utilizing its operatives on the ground. He is accused of providing shelter and logistical support to the gang's shooters and ground operatives. He also directed extortion rackets, issued threats, and coordinated assignments for the gang through encrypted channels.

Following his arrest at Delhi Airport, Anmol Bishnoi was produced before a Delhi NIA court, which remanded him to 11 days of NIA custody. The NIA had sought 15-day custody for interrogation. The authorities consider Anmol's extradition as a crucial step in cracking down on organized crime networks operating across borders.

BJP leader Ram Kadam praised the government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi for ensuring that criminals can no longer evade justice by fleeing abroad. He emphasized the government's strong commitment to dismantling fugitive networks and reinforcing legal deterrence.
