Veteran actor Rakesh Bedi has lauded Ranveer Singh's performance in the recently released spy thriller, "Dhurandhar," stating that the film has "broken the bar" at the box office. The movie, directed by Aditya Dhar, has become a major commercial success, not only dominating theaters nationwide but also rewriting box-office benchmarks.

"Dhurandhar" reached the Rs 500 crore milestone in a record 16 days, making it the fastest Bollywood film to achieve this feat. This places it ahead of Shah Rukh Khan's "Jawan," which previously held the record among Hindi films by reaching the mark in 18 days. On a broader Indian cinema scale, "Dhurandhar" ranks as the second fastest to cross the milestone, trailing only Allu Arjun's Telugu blockbuster "Pushpa 2 – The Rule," which achieved the same in just 11 days. As of December 22, 2025, "Dhurandhar" has amassed a total collection of Rs 555 crore. On its 18th day alone, the film recorded a formidable Rs 38 crore, reflecting sustained audience interest and strong word-of-mouth.

The film's success is attributed to its strong narrative rooted in geopolitical tensions and high-octane action sequences. "Dhurandhar" chronicles a decade-long intelligence mission, featuring Ranveer Singh in the lead, supported by Akshaye Khanna, R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, Sara Arjun, and Rakesh Bedi.

"Dhurandhar" had a massive opening, making it the second-highest opener of 2025. In its first week, the movie showed impressive growth, and the second week was no different either. The film earned Rs 22.50 crore on its third Friday (day 15), Rs 34.25 crore on its second Saturday (day 16), and Rs 38.50 crore on its third Sunday (day 17), thus amassing Rs 95.25 crore over its third weekend, the highest for any Hindi film at the domestic box office so far.

The film has not only broken records but has also surpassed other major Bollywood releases. With a total collection of Rs 516.5cr in 16 days, "Dhurandhar" has managed to become the fastest Hindi film to cross Rs 500cr in India, surpassing the record of "Jawan" and "Stree 2," which achieved the milestone in 18 and 22 days respectively. On Sunday, "Dhurandhar" added another Rs 38.50 crore to its domestic box office collection, reaching Rs 555.75 crore in India. This allowed it to surpass "Animal," which previously held the 10th highest grosser position at Rs 553.87 crore.

"Dhurandhar" is produced by Aditya and Lokesh Dhar's B62 Studios and Jyoti Deshpande-led Jio Studios. The film's success marks a significant achievement for director Aditya Dhar, who returns to direction after six years. "Dhurandhar" also marks Ranveer Singh's first collaboration with Aditya and Akshaye, receiving rave reviews from audiences and critics.
