In a recent interview with ELLE UK, Dakota Johnson revealed that her Materialists co-star, Pedro Pascal, suggested she create an OnlyFans account. Pascal believes Johnson could easily make money on the platform, even joking that she could "wiggle my toe and make money".
Johnson's response to Pascal's suggestion was lighthearted and somewhat intrigued. She admitted, "I would look at OnlyFans models on Instagram if I knew how to do that. Sounds intriguing". However, she also expressed uncertainty, stating, "Should I do that? I'm not the right person to ask for advice…".
The topic arose during a conversation about modern dating dilemmas, as Johnson was asked for her advice on what to do if someone discovers their partner is looking at OnlyFans models. Johnson responded, "OnlyFans is the place where people go to watch people do weird things. Are OnlyFans models hot? Are they difficult to regular models?".
OnlyFans is a subscription-based online platform where creators can share content and receive payments directly from their fans. It has become a popular avenue for individuals to monetize their content, ranging from artistic endeavors to more explicit material.
Pascal's suggestion to Johnson was seemingly made in jest, highlighting the potential for anyone, even celebrities, to earn money on the platform. It also underscores the growing mainstream awareness and acceptance of OnlyFans as a legitimate platform for content creation and income generation.
The pair also revealed that Johnson doesn't remember their first meeting. Pascal recalled that they first met at the Golden Globes in 2014 at an HBO after-party. According to Pascal, Johnson was on her own, so he and Sarah Paulson "banded together" and looked after her. Johnson, however, had no recollection of this encounter, which Pascal admitted made him feel a little hurt when they met again at the Met Gala. He joked that the hurt he felt at the Met Gala was "connected to love". Johnson responded by saying, "I find the Met Gala is like The Twilight Zone. I don't know what the f*** is going on. I don't feel I connect with any human beings in a real way; it's like going into some sort of vortex".
Materialists, starring Johnson, Pascal, and Chris Evans, is set to be released in theaters on June 13. In the film, Johnson plays a matchmaker who finds herself in a love triangle with two men, played by Pascal and Evans.
