Riteish Deshmukh has had a phenomenal run at the box office in 2025, solidifying his position as a versatile and bankable actor in the Indian film industry. With two major releases, Raid 2 and Housefull 5, Deshmukh has showcased his ability to excel in diverse genres, from intense antagonist roles to comedic avatars, earning both critical acclaim and commercial success.

Deshmukh's year began with Raid 2, released on May 1, 2025. In this crime thriller, a sequel to the 2018 film Raid, Deshmukh played a corrupt politician, a departure from his usual comedic roles. His performance was lauded by critics, with some noting his "solid performance" that added depth to the film. While some reviews were mixed, the film was a commercial success, grossing an estimated ₹238.33 crore worldwide. Raid 2 opened with ₹19.71 crore in India and ₹27 crore worldwide, and in its opening weekend, it grossed over ₹100 crore, including ₹14 crore from international markets. By its 25th day, the film had crossed ₹162 crore in India. Raid 2 became the third highest-grossing Hindi film of 2025.

Following the success of Raid 2, Deshmukh starred in Housefull 5, the latest installment in the popular comedy franchise. Released on June 6, 2025, the film features Deshmukh as one of the primary characters, alongside Akshay Kumar and Abhishek Bachchan. Housefull 5 has proven to be a box office juggernaut, surpassing Salman Khan's Sikandar to become the fourth highest-grossing Hindi film of 2025 in its first few days. The movie opened strongly, collecting ₹24 crore on its first Friday and ₹31 crore on its first Saturday, and ₹32.5 crore on its first Sunday. By its fifth day, the movie had grossed ₹111.25 crore. After six days, Housefull 5 earned ₹119.75 crore and became the third-highest-grossing Hindi film of 2025, surpassing Akshay Kumar's Sky Force. The film continued its strong performance, earning ₹120.25 crore in India in its first six days. Worldwide, the film has grossed ₹191.77 crore in six days and is moving closer to the ₹200 crore mark.

Deshmukh's success in 2025 is a testament to his versatility and dedication to his craft. He began his acting career in 2003 with Tujhe Meri Kasam and has since appeared in numerous successful comedies, including the Masti and Housefull series. In addition to his acting career, Deshmukh has also ventured into film production and direction. He launched his production house, Mumbai Film Company, in 2013, producing several successful Marathi films. In 2022, he made his directorial debut with the Marathi film Ved, which became one of the highest-grossing Marathi films of all time.

Looking ahead, Deshmukh has several projects in the pipeline, including Raja Shivaji, a historical drama that he will direct and star in, scheduled for release on May 1, 2026. He is also slated to appear in Dhamaal 4 and Masti 4. With his continued success and diverse range of projects, Riteish Deshmukh is poised to remain a prominent figure in the Indian film industry for years to come.
