PM KISAN 20th Instalment Issues: Troubleshooting Guide for Farmers Who Haven't Received Payments Yet

Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the 20th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme on Saturday, August 2, 2025, disbursing ₹20,500 crore to over 9.7 crore farmers in Varanasi. Under this scheme, the government provides ₹6,000 annually to land-holding farmers, distributed in three equal installments. The aim is to support farmers' financial needs, help them procure essential inputs, protect them from moneylenders, and ensure their continued engagement in farming. If you are an eligible farmer and have not received the ₹2,000 installment, here’s what you should do.

Check Your Beneficiary Status

The first step is to verify whether the money has been credited to your account. Here’s how you can do it: * Visit the official PM-KISAN website. * Go to the 'Farmers Corner' and click on 'Beneficiary Status'. * Enter the required details, such as your Aadhaar number, mobile number, or bank account number. * Check the payment status to see if the installment has been credited.

Possible Reasons for the Delay

Several reasons could cause a delay in receiving the PM KISAN installment:

  • Incomplete e-KYC: Completing e-KYC is now mandatory to receive benefits under the PM Kisan Yojana. You can complete your e-KYC by visiting the PM-KISAN portal and entering your Aadhaar number, or by visiting your nearest Common Service Center (CSC). You can also use the PM-Kisan mobile app for face authentication-based e-KYC.
  • Land Records Not Verified: Verification of land records is necessary for PM Kisan. Ensure your land documents are updated at the panchayat or tehsil office.
  • Bank Account Not Linked to Aadhaar: The scheme disburses money through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), so your bank account must be linked to your Aadhaar.
  • Incorrect Bank Information: Payment failures can occur if you provided the wrong account number, IFSC code, or name spelling during registration.
  • Name Not in the Beneficiary List: The government releases a new list of beneficiaries before each installment. Check if your name is on the current list.

How to Resolve the Issues

  • Complete e-KYC: If your e-KYC is not complete, complete it through the PM-KISAN portal using OTP-based authentication, biometric authentication at a CSC, or face authentication via the PM-Kisan mobile app.
  • Update Land Records: Contact your tehsil office or panchayat to correct and update your land records and upload the documents on the state government portal.
  • Link Aadhaar to Bank Account: Ensure your bank account is linked to your Aadhaar for direct benefit transfer.
  • Correct Bank Details: If you have entered any incorrect bank details, rectify them immediately through the PM-KISAN portal or by contacting your bank.

Helpline and Grievance Redressal

If you have checked all the above and still haven't received the installment, you can contact the Kisan Call Center at 1800-180-1551 to find out the reason. You can also use the PM Kisan mobile app, which has a grievance redressal system and the Kisan eMitra AI chatbot for instant query resolution in local languages.

PM-KISAN Scheme Details

Launched in February 2019, the PM-KISAN scheme provides ₹6,000 annually to eligible farmers in three equal installments. The money is directly transferred to the farmer's bank account via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). As of the 20th installment, the government has disbursed over ₹3.69 lakh crore through the scheme. Over 85% of Indian farmers who own less than two hectares of land have been significantly impacted by this initiative.

By ensuring your details are correct and updated and by utilizing the available resources, you can resolve any issues preventing you from receiving your PM KISAN installment and continue to benefit from this important scheme.
