Faisal Khan, brother of Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan, has previously spoken about a tumultuous period in his life marked by a strained relationship with his family, including Aamir. Several years ago, Faisal alleged that Aamir took control of his financial decisions and confined him, believing him to be mentally unwell.
Faisal claimed that the situation escalated to the point where he felt "caged" in Aamir's house. He alleged that he was kidnapped and forcibly medicated. He further stated that Aamir sought to obtain his signatory rights, requiring him to declare before a judge his inability to care for himself. This prompted Faisal to leave home and fight for his independence.
The conflict led to a legal battle, with Aamir claiming Faisal suffered from mental health issues. Faisal, however, maintained that he was not mentally ill and that these claims were propagated by Aamir. He underwent a mental evaluation at JJ Hospital for 20 days, after which a judge declared him of sound mind and capable of managing his own life independently.
In an interview, Faisal recounted an incident where he felt insulted by Karan Johar, a friend of Aamir's, at Aamir's 50th birthday party. He described feeling looked down upon and stated that Johar "acted weird" towards him, attempting to disconnect him from a conversation.
Despite the past conflict, Faisal attended Ira Khan's wedding, Aamir's daughter. While he has chosen to forgive Aamir, he admits that he cannot forget what happened. He maintains a distance from his family, stating that while he harbors no ill will and wishes them well, he needs to protect his own dignity. He communicates with his family on the phone and exchanges greetings on birthdays and Eid, but a barrier remains due to past events. Faisal expressed a fear stemming from their past actions. He also mentioned that he had to "run away," otherwise he would still be a prisoner at Aamir's house.
Faisal has been attempting to revive his acting career. He directed and acted in a film called "Faactory". He has also joined the Directors' and Writers' associations and is meeting with film industry professionals.
The brothers appeared together in the film "Mela," which was a critical and commercial failure. Faisal's career never recovered after that.
According to Reddit users, one user stated that Aamir was against their father's second marriage. Faisal questioned why Aamir's first wife left him if he was such a nice person. Faisal urged Aamir to forgive their father and move on.
