Salman Khan is reportedly set to host Bigg Boss 19, and sources suggest he will be charging a staggering fee between Rs 120 to Rs 150 crore for a 15-week duration. This translates to approximately Rs 8 to 10 crore per weekend. The premiere of Bigg Boss 19 is scheduled for August 24, 2025, and it is expected to be the longest season yet.
The show will have a digital-first release on JioCinema, with episodes airing on Colors TV later on the same day. This strategic move towards OTT reflects the growing importance of digital platforms in entertainment consumption. Industry experts believe that Salman Khan's substantial fee aligns with the show's focus on the OTT audience.
While Salman Khan's fee for Bigg Boss 19 is lower than the reported Rs 250 crore he charged for Bigg Boss 18, it is still significantly higher than the Rs 96 crore he received for Bigg Boss OTT 2. This indicates his continued value and popularity as the face of the Bigg Boss franchise.
According to reports, Salman Khan will host the show for the first three months, after which other celebrity hosts will take over. Names like Farah Khan, Karan Johar, and Anil Kapoor have been considered to fill in as hosts for the remainder of the season.
The theme for Bigg Boss 19 is "Gharwaalon ki Satta," which means "the power of the housemates," giving contestants unprecedented power. The premiere episode will feature grand entries, interactions with Salman Khan, and a special appearance by Swara Bhasker, who will host debates aligning with the season's theme.
The tentative list of contestants for Bigg Boss 19 includes Gaurav Khanna, Ashnoor Kaur, Awez Darbar, Nagma Mirajkar, Zeeshan Quadri, and Payal Gamingg. However, the confirmed contestant list will be revealed during the premiere episode. Some other celebrities expected to join the show are Shriram Chandra, Amal Malik, Apoorva Mukhija, Gurcharan Singh, Purav Jha, Sivet Tomar and Shailesh Lodha.
Notably, the show has previously hosted international contestants, some of whom have gained significant recognition in the Indian entertainment industry. Sunny Leone, who was introduced to Bollywood after her Bigg Boss 5 stint, and Nora Fatehi, who became known for her dance moves after Bigg Boss 9, are prime examples of this.
Bigg Boss 19 will air on JioCinema at 9 pm and on Colors TV at 10:30 pm.
