Eric Robinson is staying put in Raleigh. The Carolina Hurricanes have announced that they have signed the left-wing forward to a four-year contract extension. The deal, which extends through the 2028-29 season, is worth $6.8 million, carrying an average annual value (AAV) of $1.7 million.

The announcement, made Friday by Hurricanes General Manager Eric Tulsky, solidifies Robinson's place within the Hurricanes organization after a career-best season. "It's no surprise to us that Eric had his best professional season last year with Carolina," said Tulsky. "His size and speed make him an excellent fit for the way we want to play, and we are thrilled that he's chosen to remain a Hurricane."

Robinson, who is 30 years old, achieved career highs across the board during the 2024-25 season. He played in all 82 regular-season games, notching 14 goals and 18 assists for a total of 32 points. He also recorded a plus-minus rating of +14, reflecting his strong two-way play. In addition to his regular-season contributions, Robinson appeared in 15 post-season games for the Hurricanes, adding a goal and two assists.

A native of Bellmawr, New Jersey, Robinson has played 388 career NHL games with the Columbus Blue Jackets, Buffalo Sabres, and Hurricanes, accumulating 54 goals and 69 assists for 123 points. He has also participated in 25 playoff games, recording 2 goals and 2 assists. Prior to joining the Hurricanes, Robinson signed with the team as a free agent on July 1, 2024. Before turning pro, Robinson played college hockey for four seasons at Princeton University where he served as team captain.

Robinson's blend of size and speed has made him a valuable asset to the Hurricanes' bottom-six forward group. His ability to contribute offensively while maintaining a responsible defensive presence has earned him the trust of the coaching staff and the appreciation of his teammates. With this new four-year extension, the Hurricanes are betting that Robinson can continue to provide consistent and reliable play for years to come. The stability and familiarity of remaining in Carolina should allow him to further develop his game and contribute to the team's pursuit of a Stanley Cup.
