Shreyas Talpade is celebrating the 8th anniversary of his Hindi directorial debut, "Poster Boys," which was released on September 8, 2017. The film, a comedy revolving around an unexpected vasectomy advertisement, stars Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, and Shreyas Talpade himself.

Talpade took to Instagram to express his gratitude and mark the occasion. He thanked Sunny Deol for being his "strongest pillar" and for making him a director. He also acknowledged Bobby Deol as a "great friend" and one of his best co-actors. Talpade extended his appreciation to the film's actresses, Tripti Dimri, Sonali Kulkarni, and Samikssha Batnagar, as well as producer Deepti Talpade, the crew, and the entire cast. He concluded his post by thanking the audience for their love, which keeps the film fresh in his heart.

"Poster Boys" is a remake of the Marathi film "Poshter Boyz," which Talpade also produced and acted in. The Hindi adaptation marked Shreyas Talpade's first foray into directing in the Hindi film industry. The film is inspired by a real-life incident involving three porters who found their pictures on a vasectomy poster. The story follows three men whose lives are upended when their photos are mistakenly used in a government campaign promoting vasectomy. Ridiculed by their families and community, they set out to clear their names and take on the system.

In a 2024 interview, Shreyas Talpade opened up about approaching Bobby and Sunny Deol for "Poster Boys," recalling their emotional states at the time. He revealed that Bobby Deol was going through a difficult phase, having been out of work for four years and dealing with personal struggles and health issues. Talpade recounted Bobby's initial lack of confidence and uncertainty about his next steps. However, he was pleasantly surprised when Bobby arrived for a reading session looking revitalized and ready to work. Shreyas also shared his positive experience of collaborating with Sunny Deol, praising his professionalism.

The music for "Poster Boys" was composed by multiple artists, including Tanishk Bagchi, Rishi Rich, Sunai Marathe, Shreyas Iyengar, and Sonny Ravan. The soundtrack includes a recreation of Daler Mehndi's hit song "Kudiyan Shehar Diyan," featuring Elli AvrRam.

"Poster Boys" features Sunny Deol as Jaagavar Chaudhary, Bobby Deol as Vinay Sharma, and Shreyas Talpade as Arjun Singh. The cast also includes Sonali Kulkarni, Samikssha Batnagar, and Tripti Dimri. The film was produced by Sony Pictures Networks Productions, Sunny Sounds, and Affluence Movies.

The film garnered mixed reviews but was a moderate box office success, earning ₹30 crore against a budget of ₹15 crore.
