Dhanashree Verma, choreographer and ex-wife of cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal, has made a startling revelation about her marriage, claiming that Chahal was unfaithful just two months after their wedding in December 2020. Verma made the disclosure on the reality show 'Rise and Fall', during a conversation with actress Kubbra Sait.
In a clip from the show circulating on social media, Sait asked Verma when she realized the marriage was a mistake. Verma responded, "First year. Caught him in the second month,". Sait exclaimed, "Crazy bro," to which Verma echoed, "Crazy bro".
Verma and Chahal's relationship began during the COVID-19 lockdown when Chahal enrolled in Verma's online dance classes. They married in a Gurugram ceremony in December 2020. However, the marriage faced difficulties, and they separated in June 2022. They filed for divorce by mutual consent in February 2025, which was finalized in March 2025.
This isn't the first time Verma has spoken about the divorce. In August 2025, she discussed it on the "Humans of Bombay" YouTube podcast, nearly a month after Chahal first addressed their separation publicly. She has also addressed the public scrutiny and trolling she faced. "Eventually, you get hurt when you see that happening. It was not needed. None of it is true. I felt worse wondering why did he do it? It's okay, I will always keep his respect, that is what I believe in. Now, I don't think I can date anybody," Verma stated.
Verma also clarified rumors about alimony, stating that the divorce was mutual and happened quickly. "It happened quickly because it was mutual, that's why when people say alimony, it's wrong," she explained. "Just because I am not saying anything, you will go on saying anything? My parents have taught me to only justify to people whom I care about. Why waste time explaining those who don't even know you?".
Adding to the emotional turmoil, Verma revealed on the show that she felt unsafe after co-contestant Akriti Negi disclosed that actress Aahana Kumra allegedly made disparaging remarks about her, questioning her character and suggesting she "clings to men". This incident left Verma visibly shaken.
The divorce between Verma and Chahal was a highly discussed topic on the internet. Some reports suggest that Chahal paid Verma ₹4.75 crore as part of the divorce settlement, although this information has not been officially confirmed. Currently, Yuzvendra Chahal is rumored to be dating RJ Mahvash.
