The film is produced by Dharma Productions and Shashank Khaitan's Mentor Disciple Entertainment. Shashank Khaitan has also written and directed the movie.

According to reports, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari experienced a significant drop of 67% on its first Monday, earning an estimated ₹3 crore net at the Indian box office. The total cumulative revenue reached ₹33.75 crore, with the first day bringing in ₹9.25 crore.
Varun Dhawan revealed that Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari was originally slated for a Diwali release but was moved to avoid clashing with the movie Thamma, produced by Dinesh Vijan. Dhawan explained that Karan Johar and he are good friends with Dinesh Vijan and Amar Kaushik, and they wanted to avoid competing with friends.
Critics have given the film mixed reviews, with some praising the performances of the cast, particularly Janhvi Kapoor, while others have noted the film's "flimsy and frivolous foundation".
