An Akasa Air flight, en route to Delhi, experienced a bird strike on Friday, October 10, 2025. The aircraft, performing flight duties, was struck by a bird during its climb, prompting a thorough safety assessment upon landing.

According to sources, the incident occurred during the flight's ascent. Following the bird hit, the crew followed standard operating procedures, and the aircraft safely landed at its intended destination in Delhi. All passengers were safely deboarded.

Upon inspection after landing, damage to the radome, the nose cone of the aircraft, was observed. As a precautionary measure, the aircraft has been declared 'Aircraft On Ground' (AOG) and will undergo a detailed inspection by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). The DGCA is the aviation regulatory body overseeing safety standards and practices in India.

An Akasa Air spokesperson confirmed the incident, stating, "Akasa Air flight [number] flying from [departure city] to Delhi on October 10 experienced a bird hit. The aircraft landed safely, and all passengers were deboarded. As a result, the aircraft has been positioned for a detailed inspection".

Akasa Air has initiated measures to accommodate passengers affected by the delayed onward journey. The airline's customer service team is actively assisting passengers and making alternative arrangements to minimize disruptions to their travel plans.
